Bob Jonkman - President
Bob is a lifelong resident of DeMotte. He owns and
operates Jonkman Garage, a local family
business for 50 years!
Bob has been on the Chamber of Commerce Board of
Directors for 13 years and lends a hand volunteering
on numerous Chamber committees.
Additional organizations and groups include Rotary
Club, Little League Umpire and a member of 1st
Christian Reformed Church.

Rodney Urbano - Vice President
Rodney is the Vice-President of his family owned
business, Town & Country Paving, Inc. The
business started in 1982 and had previous asphalt
plants in Rensselaer and Kentland but relocated to
DeMotte in 1998.
During his 9 year tenure on the Chamber of Commerce
Board of Directors, Rodney served the executive
position of President in 2008 & 2009. He is
committed to volunteering on various Chamber
committees as needed.
Rodney also serves on the ROTARY board of directors,
and is a board member of the Jasper County Economic
Development Organization (JCEDO).

Valerie Fagen - Treasurer
Another family owned business is Financial Arts
Inc. Valerie's dad, Jack founded the business
over 36 years ago and has been family owned since.
Valerie is an insurance agent in this well-respected
family business.
Val began serving on the Chamber of Commerce Board
of Directors 3 years ago. She simultaneously took on
the task as Treasurer for the organization and has
done a fine job! She also volunteers on committees
across the board.
Valerie is very active in the community with other
organizations as well. She serves as the
Co-President of the KV Women's Club, an active
member of the St. Cecilia Parish Council and the
Communication Chair for Northwest Indiana

Cyndi Urbano - Secretary
Celebrating a decade of service, Cyndi owns and
operates New Millennium Mortgage in DeMotte.
She has served on the Chamber Board for 3 years and
currently fills the position of Secretary and
volunteers often for the various Chamber committees.
Cyndi is also on the Board for the DeMotte Rotary
Club and a Member of Grace Fellowship Church.

children have completed their educations here and
have now settled down to begin families of their
own. DeMotte is a wonderful place to live and work,
our school systems are awesome. DeMotte is known for

Anita Padgett
Anita Padgett has been with the Kankakee Valley
Post-News since 1981 and is now the office manager
and advertising manager. Anita has served on the
Chamber Board of Directors since 2003.
She also held the office of Secretary for three
years. She is an active member of the North Newton
Chamber of Commerce, serves on their Board of
Directors and in the past has held the office of
Vice President and Secretary for several terms. She
is also an active member of the DeMotte/Kankakee
Valley Rotary Club and has served on the Board of
Directors of the club.
